Lights of Unity is the launch of Adam Moore’s latest artwork, ‘Glow Home’, a set of neon sculptures that will be installed at Beckton Globe Library.
During the event, attendees will be invited to take part in:
Drop-in collage workshops
Sharing written stories
Recording audio of their stories.
All of the activities will be themed around community in Beckton, and free refreshments will be provided by TiffinWalli CIC. This event will be organised and run by young people taking part in UCL Special Collections’ careers programme, Curating Futures.
Adam Moore’s artwork has been paired with Beckton Globe Library as part of Culture Within Newham’s Art on Your Doorstep project. Learn more about Adam Moore
Adam Moore is a transdisciplinary artist from East London of Caribbean and European heritage. Using choreographic, embodied, transdisciplinary processes in post-studio and socially engaged contexts he examines the intersectional discourses, technologies, and embodiments of sustainability.
A Trinity Laban Leverhulme Performing Arts Scholar with an MFA in Dance Creative Practice, he is Associate Lecturer in the Department of Architecture & Visual Arts, School of Architecture, Computing and Engineering at the University of East London on the BA and MA Fine Art programmes. His solo exhibition and performance series, Bright Dynasty, was presented by Phoenix Art Space, Brighton, in 2022. In 2023 he was awarded the Jerwood New Work Fund.
