Culture Within Newham, the borough-wide arts programme unleashing new creative opportunities for all residents is launching a new micro-commissioning scheme for up to £1,000. This is for creative activities that will take place in March and April 2025. The micro-commissions are aimed at supporting new ideas and providing an opportunity to build experience in delivering artistic or creative projects.
There will be two micro-commission rounds, covering different areas in Newham.
Round 1 – Green Street, East Ham, Manor Park, Little Ilford areas (Open now - Monday 16 December, 9am)
Round 2 – A selection of areas in East and South-East Newham (Opens spring 2025)
What are Micro-Commissions?
We hope that our micro-commissioning programme will support artists and organisations with creative ideas, who would like more experience of delivering their artistic or cultural projects.
There are two different types of micro-commission available. One is a ‘Booster Commission’ and the other is a ‘Seed Commission’.
The Booster Commission is for enhancing or adding to the creative, artistic or cultural aspect of an existing project. The Booster Commission is for up to £500.
The Seed Commission is for new creative, artistic and cultural projects. The Seed Commission is for up to £1,000.
We will commission three Booster Commissions and three Seed Commissions in this round.
