Eastern European Photography Club
Overview
The Eastern European Photography Club: Newham Through Our Lens is a photography club open to all, serving as a platform for Eastern European migrants in Newham to tell their unique stories through the art of photography and a safe space to share ideas and experiences.
The photography meet-ups, run by renowned photographer Paulina Korobkiewicz, are dedicated to sharing narratives and discussions around visual storytelling; documenting Newham from an Eastern European perspective, capturing everyday life, focusing on the themes of identity, and belonging, collective memory, and community voices. It is an initiative aimed at promoting cultural exchange, community engagement and creativity.
The club is open to experienced photographer as well as those just starting out, anyone is welcome to join in capturing our stories of Newham. The club has made a home at Beckton Globe on Saturday mornings.
The Eastern European Photography Club is a collaboration between Rosetta Arts, Centrala and the Roma Support Group and was commissioned by Culture Within Newham as part of the 'Unexpected Partnerships' project open call.
